Nyctibatrachus cf. major in amplexus

Science and philosophy drives me crazy. My subjects of interests are amphibians, ecology, landscape ecology, biostatistics, remote sensing and geographical information systems and research methods. In amphibians, I look into breeding biology, acoustics, habitat occupancy and systematics. I am keen on organism and community ecology with insights on diversity and distribution in space and time. In landscape ecology, I work on habitat fragmentation metrics and their influence. In applied science, my interests are biostatistics (multivariate statistics), image processing in remote sensing, geographical information systems (science) and research methods. I also work with Free and Open Source Software (Ubuntu, QGIS, etc). Few of my talks are available on line at www.slideshare.net/gururajakv. My teaching philosophy is that, teaching is the best way to learn and learning process will never end.
